Byrdie released an article taking a tour of the world’s most popular haircuts. We just had to weigh in on the USA selection.
“Hairstylist extraordinaire Harry Josh predicted it back in January: As the era of the lob cycles forward, American women are starting to grow out their locks again. But the same styling—blunt ends and tousled waves—makes for an easy transition.”- Byrdie.com
We asked our stylist Sylvia to weigh in on the selection.
Do you agree with Brydie’s selection for the most popular US Haircut?:
“I completely agree, the LOB is a stylish, fun, and easier to manage cut. It has been super popular, so I see why it’s natural next stop (the grown out longer lob) is the most popular here in the states.”-Sylvia stylist at Agnes O.
Straight or tousled waves?:
“Tousled waves, that’s an easy one. Adding a little bit of texture to this haircut makes it look effortless and helps your style “wear-ability” last longer. The messiness hides little imperfections and day 1 all you have to do is spritz a little dry shampoo & texture spray and you are good to go!” – Sylvia stylist at Agnes O.
-Sylvia’s favorite Dry Shampoo is Naturia from Rene Furterer ($28)
-Sylvia’s go-to Texture Spray is Spray Texture by Rene Furterer ($32 or travel size $18)
And our last question for Sylvia…
Any suggestions you have for clients about updating their haircut now that they know what the most popular haircut in America is?:
“I always like to remind people there is a perfect cut for you out there. Customizing little details makes a huge difference.” -Sylvia stylist at Agnes O.
